September/October 1962 UK concert tour program
Original vintage concert program for the George Shearing Quintet’s September/October 1962 nationwide tour of Great Britain with Joe Williams accompanied by the Junior Mance Trio also on the bill. Shearing’s Quintet for the tour included Ralph Pena (bass), Vernel Fournier (drums), Ronald Anthony (guitar), Douglas Marsh (vibes) and Armando Peraza (congo drums). Original ticket for the concert at the City (Oval) Hall in Sheffield on Monday, 1st October, laid in. Interestingly, Sarah Vaughan is printed on the ticket instead of Joe Williams, who may have been forced to withdraw from the tour after the program had been printed.
