October 1971 UK concert tour program

Original vintage concert program produced for American blues pianist, singer, and composer Memphis Slim’s October 1971 British tour, presented by Robert Paterson. By the late 1960s/early 1970s Memphis Slim developed his act into a full-scale but still informal one man concert presentation, he called “Story of the Blues”, where he would talk about the music and some of his blues friends between the songs. Memphis Slim died on 24th February, 1988, of renal failure in Paris, at the age of 72. He is buried at Galilee Memorial Gardens in Memphis, Tennessee. He was posthumously inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame in 1989.

In original b/w pictorial matte-coated wrappers, staple bound, 20.3 x 26.3 cm, 8 pp. Program notes by Max Jones. In excellent condition, tightly bound and clean. Additional images of the program available on request.
