May 1981 European concert tour program

Original concert program produced for American jazz vibraphonist and bandleader Lionel Hampton’s May 1981 European tour, presented by Peter Walter and Ulrich Gerhartz. The ensemble for the tour consisted of Roy Roman, Barry Reese, Wallace Davenport (trumpets); Tom Chapin, Yoshi Malta, Ricky Ford (saxophones); Curtis Fuller (trombone); Paul Berner (bass); Reynolds “Zeke” Mullins (paino); and Frank Dunlop (drums). The 1967 album Hamp Stamps was re-issued by Glad-Hamp Records just prior to the European tour.  The track “Sunshine Superman”, which was on the original pressing, was replaced by “Taste of Honey”.

In original b/w pictorial coated wrappers, staple bound, 14.8 x 21.1 cm, 20 pp. Trilingual edition with program notes by Otto Flückiger in German, English and French. In excellent condition, tightly bound and clean. Additional images of the program available on request.
