1980 Japanese Warner-Pioneer Corporation promo poster for “Strikes Twice”

Large original first printing Larry Carlton (1948) promotional poster issued by Warner-Pioneer Corporation in 1980 to promote the release of the Strikes Twice album – his fourth studio album, produced and arranged by Carlton himself and released in September 1980 on Warner Bros. Records. Like most of his solo album, it was recorded at Room 335, a home studio he had built in the mid-1970s. It was named after the Gibson ES-335, an electric guitar he often played. Noticeable musicians on the album include bassist Robert “Pops” Popwell, drummer John Ferraro, keyboardists Don Freeman and Greg Mathieson, and percussionist Paulinho Da Costa. The album peaked at #138 on the Billboard 200. The poster was for promotional purposes only, and was never made commercially available.

The poster measures 59.3 x 83.8 cm (approx. 23.3″ by 33″ inches) and is beautifully printed on thin, coated paper stock. Light sporadic edge wear to the borders, else in near excellent unfolded condition. Feel free to email us with any questions you may have concerning this item. Additional images of the poster available on request.
