Palais des Beaux-Arts, Brussels November 1959 concert flyer

Original first printing double-sided concert flyer advertising American jazz trombonist Kid Ory (1886–1973) at the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Brussels [Belgium] on Sunday, 8th November, 1959, presented by Le Hot Club de Belgique. Billed as “Le Roi de la Nouvelle-Orléans”, Ory was accompanied by a band that featured trumpeter Henry “Red” Allen (1908–1967), clarinetist Bob McCracken (1904–1972), bassist Squire Gersh (1913–1983), drummer Alton Redd (1904–1979), and pianist Cedric Haywood (1914–1969). The show in Rome was part of a long European tour that continued through October and early November, visiting Austria, France, Sweden, Denmark, United Kingdom, Switzerland, Holland, Belgium and Italy, en route.

The flyer measures 13.5 x 17.5 cm (approx. 5.3″ by 6.9″ inches) and is beautifully printed in black ink on thin, yellow smooth-finish uncoated card stock. In excellent unfolded and unmarked condition. Feel free to email us with any questions you may have concerning this item. Additional images of the flyer available on request.
