Auditorium Maximum, Hamburg April 1961 concert poster (Michel+Kieser)

Original first printing vintage concert poster advertising the Oscar Peterson Trio at the Auditorium Maximum in Hamburg [Germany] on Monday, 24th April, 1961, presented by promoter Kurt Collien. Besides the leader, the trio featured drummer Ed Thigpen (1930—2010) and bassist Ray Brown (1926—2002). The trio had been touring the UK and continental Europe with Ella Fitzgerald during March, and was now touring in their own name. Soon after the European tour had ended they recorded the two classic live albums, The Trio and The Sound of the Trio at the London House jazz club in Chicago. Both produced by Norman Granz and released by Verve Records. The poster features dramatic artwork by noted graphic duo, Hans Michel and Günther Kieser, with their imprint to the bottom left corner.

The poster measures 83.8 x 59.1 cm (approx. 33″ by 23.2″ inches) and is beautifully printed in red and black inks on thin, smooth-finish uncoated paper stock. There is a pin hole to each corner and a tiny rip to the lower left side border, else in remarkably near excellent unfolded condition. Feel free to email us with any questions you may have concerning this item. Additional images of the poster available on request.
