Jahrhunderthalle, Frankfurt October 1975 concert poster

Original first printing concert poster advertising the Pablo Jazz Festival staged at the Jahrhunderthalle in Frankfurt [Germany] on Sunday, 12th October, 1975, presented by Lippmann+Rau. Performing artists included Ella Fitzgerald accompanied by the Tommy Flanagan Trio, Count Basie, Ray Brown, Louie Bellson, Eddie “Lockjaw” Davis, Roy Eldridge, Dizzy Gillespie, Milt Jackson, Joe Pass, Oscar Peterson, Zoot Sims, and Clark Terry. Pablo Records was a record label founded by Norman Granz in 1973, roughly a decade after he had sold his jazz labels to MGM Records. Pablo initially featured recordings by acts that Granz managed: Ella Fitzgerald, Oscar Peterson and Joe Pass. Later, recordings by Count Basie, John Coltrane, Dizzy Gillespie and Sarah Vaughan were added. In 1987 the label was acquired by Fantasy Records.

The poster measures 59.5 x 84.0 cm (approx. 23.5″ by 33.1″ inches) and is beautifully printed in black ink on thin, coated paper stock. Neatly folded thrice, else in remarkably near excellent condition. Feel free to email us with any questions you may have concerning this item. Additional images of the poster available on request.
