Wembley Conference Centre, London November 1986 concert program

Original vintage concert program for the Miles Davis Octet’ two concerts at the Wembley Conference Centre in London [England] on 16th & 17th November, 1986, in support of the Tutu album, Miles’ tribute to Archbishop Desmond Tutu, the first black Anglican Archbishop of Cape Town, South Africa. Besides the leader himself, the octet included Bob Berg (ss, ts); Garth Webber (g); Robert Irving III (synth); Adam Holzman (synth); Darryl Jones (el-b); Vincent Wilburn Jr. (drums); and Steve Thornton (perc). This was a time of some upheaval for Miles and his band. By the end of the year, Webber and Thornton would leave, and by early 1987, Berg and Wilburn had left. By the time Miles returned to the UK in summer 1987, only Miles, Jones, Irving and Holzman would still be in the band.

In original black and white pictorial wrappers, staple bound, 14.8 x 21.0 cm, 8 pp. Program notes by Ian Carr and Mike Zwerin. Just a touch of very light handling wear, else in near excellent condition, tightly bound and clean. Additional photos available on request.
