May 1973 German tour blank concert poster (Kieser)

Original first printing concert poster designed to promote legendary English blues singer, guitarist, and organist John Mayall’s May 1973 German tour, presented by Lippmann+Rau, and with English singer-songwriter and guitarist Michael Chapman as special guest. Mayall’s band for the tour featured guitarist Freddie Robinson, bassist Victor Gaskin, tenor saxophonist and flutist Red Holloway, drummer Keef Hartley, and trumpeter Blue Mitchell. Except for Red Holloway replacing Ernie Watts, all played on the Moving On album, recorded at the Whisky A Go Go in Los Angeles on 10th July, 1972 and released in early 1973, produced by Mayall himself. The poster features uncredited artwork by Günther Kieser.

The poster measures 60.0 x 83.8 cm (approx. 23.6″ by 33″ inches) and is beautifully printed on thin, coated paper stock. In excellent unfolded and unmarked condition. Feel free to email us with any questions you may have concerning this item. Additional images of the poster available on request.
