Jazztown, Gentbrugge May 1980 concert poster 

Original first printing concert poster advertising the 10th International Jazzmeeting which took place at the Jazztown in Gentbrugge [Belgium] from 23rd to 25th May, 1980. The festival was headlined by Lionel Hampton and French clarinetist Claude Luter, but also featured the Harlem Blues and Jazz Band as well as a host of European jazz bands. Hampton was touring with his Festival All Star Band, which featured trumpeters Joe Newman, Wallace Davenport and Stjepho Gut, tenor saxophonist Paul Moen, alto saxophonist Steve Slagle, baritone saxophonist Kevin Brown, trombonists Curtis Fuller and Richie Caruso, organist and pianist Wild Bill Davis, bassist Gary Mazzaroppi, drummer Richie Pratt and singer Lauri Rudolp. German boogie-woogie pianist Axel Zwingenberger was special guest on the tour.

The poster measures 44.8 x 70.7 cm and is beautifully printed in blue and black inks on thin, uncoated paper stock. Light edge wear to the bottom right corner, else in excellent unfolded condition.
