Grugahalle, Essen May 1960 concert poster

Original first printing concert poster advertising traditional jazz giants George Lewis (1900–1968), Muggsy Spanier (1901–1967) and Mezz Mezzrow (1899–1972) at the Grugahalle in Essen [Germany] on Thursday, 12th May, 1960, presented by the Essen Jazz Federation. Lewis was accompanied by Papa Bue’s Viking Jazzband, while Spanier was accompanied by the New Orleans Syncopators, a Dutch jazz band from Amsterdam founded in mid 1950s.

The poster measures 59.4 x 83.9 cm (approx. 23.4″ by 33″ inches) and is beautifully printed on thin, smooth-finish uncoated paper stock. In excellent unfolded condition, clean and unmarked.
