November 1963 European concert tour program (Michel+Kieser)

Original vintage concert  program book produced for the FOLK BLUES USA November 1963 European tour, presented by German promoters Horst Lippmann and Fritz Rau. When the 1963 American Folk Blues Festival ended in late October, Memphis Slim, Sonny Boy Williamson, guitarist Matt “Guitar” Murphy, and drummer Bill Stepney, who had all been part of the AFBF package tour, continued to tour Europe through November as a quartet, now billed as “Folk Blues USA”. The program features striking artwork and graphic design by Hans Michel and Günther Kieser. This particular copy comes from the archive of promoter Horst Lippmann.

In original black and white pictorial coated wrappers, perfect bound, 27.5 x 25.5 cm, 30 pp. Program notes in German by Olaf Hudtwalcker, Joachim E. Berendt, and Horst Lippman. In excellent condition, tightly bound and clean. Appears unread. Additional images of the program available on request.
