Concertgebouw, Amsterdam January 1958 concert program
Original vintage concert program for the Erroll Garner Trio’s performance at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam on Saturday, 4th January, 1958, presented by Lou van Rees. Accompanied by double-bassist Eddie Calhoun and drummer Kelly Martin, the concert in Amsterdam was part of Garner’s first European tour. Due to his dispute with Columbia Records, Garner made no new recordings from 1958 to June 1961. To make up the lost income from his recording standoff with Columbia, Garner embarked on a relentless touring schedule that often took him to Europe, where he built a huge fan base. The program has been authentically signed by Garner, Eddie Calhoun, and Kelly Martin on the front cover in blue ink.
Original black and white pictorial matte-coated two-fold brochure, 18.5 x 25.8 cm. The program has been folded vertically down the middle with light wear along the fold line. Additional images of the program available on request.
