London Palladium, London March 1954 concert program

Original vintage concert program for American jazz pianist and vocalist Nat King Cole’s two week stay at the London Palladium commencing on Monday, 22nd March, 1954, accompanied by bassist Charles Harris, guitarist John Collins, and drummer Lee Young. These shows were part of Nat’s second European tour, having visited Europe for the first time during September 1950. The Union withdraws a threat to boycott the performance of Nat King Cole at the London Palladium after the venue threatened to close the theatre and sue the Union. The Union had refused to allow British musicians to accompany Cole because of the presence of 3 American musicians as part of his act.

In original, pictorial wrappers, staple bound, 16.0 x 22.0 cm, 12 pp. Wrappers are slightly rubbed with light wear to spine and extremities and a faint vertical crease running down the middle of the program. Additional photos available on request.
