Teatro di via Manzoni, Milan November 1956 concert program
Exceedingly scarce original vintage concert program for the Birdland ’56 concert staged at the Teatro di via Manzoni in Milan [Italy] on 22nd November, 1956, presented by La Federazione Italiana del Jazz. The concert featured an all-star ensemble of Miles Davis, Lester Young, Bud Powell, the Modern Jazz Quartet, René Urtreger, Pierre Michelot, and Christian Garros. Never seen another one of these.
In original red and black pictorial wrappers, staple bound, 22.2 x 29.0 cm, 18 pp. All text in Italian. The program has been folded vertically with a fair amount of overall handling wear. The staples are loose and there are seam splits to the top and bottom. Additional photos available on request.
