December 1953 Japanese concert tour program & ticket stub
Original vintage program book produced for American jazz trumpeter and singer Louis Armstrong’s December 1953 Japanese tour, with an ensemble that consisted of Barney Bigard (clarinet), Trummy Young (trombone), Marty Napoleon (piano), Cozy Cole (drums), Milton Hinton (bass) and Velma Middleton (vocals). Original ticket stub for the concert on 7th December, laid in.
In original red and black pictorial coated wrappers, staple bound, 21.0 x 29.7 cm, 20 pp. Program notes in both English and Japanese. Wrappers are slightly rubbed with light age toning and wear to spine and extremities. Additional photos available on request.
