1984 Japanese Portrait/Epic Sony Inc. promo poster
Large original first printing Cyndi Lauper promotional poster issued by Portrait/Epic Sony Inc. in Japan in 1984, presumably. The photo of Lauper appears to be from the “Fun Tour” – the supporting tour for her classic She’s So Unusual (1983) debut album. Produced by Rick Chertoff, the album reached #4 on the Billboard 200 and was certified 6x Platinum by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) in February 1997 for sales exceeding 6,000,000 copies in the US alone. The album has sold over 16 million copies worldwide. The poster was promotional purposes only, and was never made commercially available.
The poster measures 83.7 x 59.3 cm (approx. 33″ by 23.3″ inches) and is beautifully printed on thin, coated paper stock. In excellent unfolded condition with minimal sporadic edge wear.
