1986 Japanese CBS/Sony Inc. poster for “The Bridge”
Large original first printing Billy Joel promotional poster issued by CBS/Sony Inc. in Japan in 1986 to promote the release of The Bridge – Joel’s tenth studio album, produced by Phil Ramone, and originally released in July 1986 on Columbia Records. Containing the singles “Modern Woman”, “A Matter of Trust”, “This Is the Time”, and “Baby Grand”, the album reached #7 on the Billboard 200 and stayed on the charts for 47 weeks. It was certified 2x Platinum in April 1987 by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) for sales exceeding two million copies in the US alone. The poster was for promotional purposes only, and was never made commercially available.
