Grugahalle, Essen March 1979 concert poster
Original first printing concert poster advertising German progressive rock band Triumvirat at the Grugahalle in Essen [Germany] on Friday, 23rd March, 1979, presented by Hegmann & Struwe. The band was touring their native Germany in support of the À la Carte album, their sixth studio album, produced by keyboard player Jürgen Fritz and released in late 1978 by Harvest Records. By this time, there was pressure from the record company for a more commercial sound, which led to bassist Werner Frangerberg and drummer and lyricist Hans Bathelt left the band. À la Carte had little in common with the band’s previous albums, with soft pop and disco well in evidence.
The poster measures 83.7 x 59.2 cm (approx. 33″ by 23.3″ inches) and is beautifully printed on thin, smooth-finish uncoated paper stock. In excellent unfolded and unmarked condition.
