February 1968 UK concert tour program
Original vintage concert program produced for American jazz clarinetist and big band leader Woody Herman’sFebruary 1968 nationwide tour of Great Britain, presented by Harold Davison. By 1968, the Herman library came to be heavily influenced by rock music. The album Light My Fire was a good example. Recorded at Ter Mar Studios in Chicago and produced by Richard Evans, the album was nominated for a Best Jazz Performance — Large Group. Herman also began to feature brass and woodwind instruments not traditionally associated with jazz, such as the bassoon, oboe or French horn.
