Theatre Royal, Dublin May 1954 concert program 

Original vintage concert program for American jazz clarinetist and big band leader Woody Herman’s performance at the Theatre Royal in Dublin [Ireland] on Sunday, 2nd May, 1954, presented by Bill Fuller in association with Harold Davison. The concert in Dublin was the last stop on Herman’s first European tour during April and May 1954. According to an article from The Billboard (27th March, 1954), “A complete musical cavalcade will constitute the program of Woody Herman and the Third Herd in their upcoming 30-date tour of Europe.” The 15-man band for the tour consisted of John Howell, Reuben MacFall, Dick Collins, Al Porcino, and Bill Castagnino (trumpets); Dick Kenney, Keith Moon, and Cy Touff (trombones); Jerry Coker, Dick Hafer, Bill Perkins, and Jack Nimitz (saxophones); Charles Flores (drums); Red Kelly (bass); and Nat Pierce (piano) plus featured instrumentalist Ralph Burns and singer Dolly Houston.

In original purple and black pictorial wrappers, single staple bound, 22.0 x 27.6 cm, 12 pp. Wrappers are rubbed with a fair amount of wear to spine and extremities. Additional photos available on request.
