Sommergarten, Berlin May 1983 concert poster

Original first printing concert poster advertising American jazz-fusion group Weather Report at the Sommergarten in Berlin [Germany] on Sunday, 8th May, 1983, in support of the Procession album. Produced by Joe Zawinul and Wayne Shorter, Procession was the band’s thirteenth studio album and the first with new bassist Victor Bailey, replacing Jaco Pastorius. Drummer Omar Hakim and percusionist Jose Rossy completed the line-up. Although several previous Weather Report tracks included wordless singing, and “And Then” from Mr. Gone (1978) included brief lyrics, “Where the Moon Goes” was the band’s first track including lyrics throughout, sung by members of The Manhattan Transfer. The band would continue to feature vocals on the next three studio albums.

The poster measures 83.9 x 59.2 cm (approx. 33″ by 23.3″ inches) and is beautifully printed on thin, smooth-finish uncoated paper stock. In near excellent condition. Neatly folded thrice with faint, hardly visible fold lines. Feel free to email us with any questions you may have concerning this item. Additional images of the poster available on request.
