Welfare Pension Hall, Tokyo & Sun Plaza Hall, Tokyo June 1978 concert flyer
Original double-sided first printing concert flyer advertising American rock group Van Halen at the Welfare Pension Hall Hall in Tokyo on 17th & 19th June and at the Sun Plaza Hall, also in Tokyo, on 21st & 22nd June, 1978. Presented by Udo Artists, Van Halen was touring in support of their self-titled debut album, produced by Ted Templeman, and released on 10th February, 1978 on Warner Bros. Records. Containing the hit singles “You Really Got Me” and “Runnin’ With The Devil”, the album was a huge commercial success and reached #19 on the Billboard 200. It was certified 10x Platinum in August 1996 by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) for sales exceeding ten million copies in the US alone.
The flyer measures 14.9 x 21.1 cm (approx. 5.9″ by 8.3″ inches) and is beautifully printed on thin, coated paper stock. Staple holes to the top left corner, else in excellent unfolded condition.
