Musikhalle, Hamburg April 1974 concert poster

Original first printing concert poster advertising British rock group Status Quo at the Musikhalle in Hamburg [Germany] on Saturday, 27th April, 1974, presented by Sunrise Konzertbüro in cooperation with Karsten Jahnke, and with Stryder and Epitaph as special guests. The concert in Hamburg was part of the band’s extensive 15-date German tour during April, in support of the Hello! album, commencing at the Westfalenhalle in Dortmund on 14th April and ending at the Philipshalle in Düsseldorf on 30th April, 1974. Recorded at IBC Studios in London and produced by the band themselves, Hello! was released on 28th September, 1973 by Vertigo. It was their sixth studio album, and the first of four Quo albums to top the UK Albums Chart. It was also the first album on which drummer John Coghlan was credited with songwriting. Keyboard player Andy Bown played on “Forty Five Hundred Times”. This was Bown’s first appearance on a Status Quo album. Eventually he would perform on every album by the band from Rockin’ All Over the World (1977) onwards, and supporting them in concert. He joined Status Quo as a full member in 1982, and has been with them ever since.

The poster measures 60.8 x 86.0 cm (approx. 24″ by 33.8″ inches) and is beautifully printed on thin, smooth-finish uncoated paper stock. Very light crease mark to the bottom left side corner, else in remarkably near excellent unfolded condition. Feel free to email us with any questions you may have concerning this item. Additional images of the poster available on request.
