Palais des Beaux-Arts, Brussels May 1963 concert program

Original vintage concert program produced for American singer, songwriter, musician, and composer Ray Charles’ performance at the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Brussels [Belgium] on Wednesday, 8th May, 1963, presented by Jazz Europa. The concert in Brussels was the first stop on the European tour having arrived at the Paris Orly Airport the day before. There was a write-up of the Brussels concert in British music weekly Melody Maker and according to journalist Patrick Doncaster “a 2,000 capacity crowd at the spacious Palais des Beaux-Arts greeted Ray’s every moce and nuance with applause, shrieks and yells of ‘Bravo’!” The program features delicate artwork by Manfred Hürrig.

In original red and black pictorial, matte-coated wrappers, staple bound, 12.2 x 24.5 cm, 12 pp. Program notes in French. In excellent condition, tightly bound and clean. Additional images of the program available on request.
