Théâtre Alhambra, Bordeaux November 1969 concert poster

Original first printing concert poster advertising Canadian jazz pianist and composer Oscar Peterson (1925–2007) at the Théâtre Alhambra in Bordeaux [France] on Sunday, 16th November, 1969, presented by Norman Granz. For the European tour, Peterson was accompanied by bassist Sam Jones and drummer Bobby Durham, who had been with him since 1966 and 1967, respectively. Later that year, the trio went into the studio with German producer Hans Georg Brunner-Schwer to record the album Hello Herbie with guest guitarist Herb Ellis. This trio also recorded Tristeza on Piano in 1970, but by the time of the next European tour in November 1970, Jones and Durham were replaced by bassist George Mraz and drummer Ray Price.

The poster measures 39.6 x 59.6 cm (approx. 15.6″ by 23.4″ inches) and is beautifully printed in orange and black inks on thin, dull-coated paper stock (coated on front only). Unfolded, but with multiple pin holes and slight paper loss to the corners. Feel free to email us with any questions you may have concerning this item. Additional images of the poster available on request.
