Description

June/July 1969 Japanese concert tour program

Large original vintage program book lavishly produced for the Oscar Peterson Trio’s June/July 1969 Japanese tour. For the tour, Peterson was accompanied by bassist Sam Jones and drummer Bobby Durham, who had been with him since 1966 and 1967, respectively. Later that year, the trio went into the studio with German producer Hans Georg Brunner-Schwer to record the album Hello Herbie with guest guitarist Herb Ellis. This trio also recorded Tristeza on Piano in 1970, but by the time of the next European tour in November 1970, Jones and Durham were replaced by bassist George Mraz and drummer Ray Price.

In original pictorial matte-coated wrappers, staple bound, 25.8 x 36.4 cm, 32 pp. All text in Japanese. In excellent complete condition, tightly bound and clean. Additional images of the program available on request.
