Sankei Hall, Tokyo May 1963 concert ticket
Large original used concert ticket for the Thelonious Monk Quartet’s performance at the Sankei Hall in Tokyo [Japan] on 20th May, 1963. The concert was part of a seven-date tour during May with American jazz/blues singer Jimmy Rushing. Monk’s quartet for the Japanese tour featured tenor saxophonist Charlie Rouse, drummer Frankie Dunlop, and bassist Butch Warren. The album, Monk in Tokyo, released in Japan by Columbia Records as two separate LPs in 1963, was recorded on this tour.
