Stadthalle, Heidelberg February 1980 concert poster
Original first printing concert poster advertising Roger McGuinn and Chris Hillman from The Byrds at the Stadthalle in Heidelberg [Germany] on Monday, 18th February, 1980, presented by Karsten Jahnke, and with American singer-songwriter Lee Clayton as special guest artist. McGuinn and Hillmann were touring Europe in support of the City album, produced by Howard and Ron Albert, and released in January 1980 by Capitol Records. City was the second McGuinn, Clark & Hillman album, but a combination of Clark’s unreliability and drug problems resulted in the billing change to “Roger McGuinn and Chris Hillman, featuring Gene Clark.” Clark also pulled out of the European tour, and was replaced by Johnee Sambataro. By 1981, Clark had left, and the group recorded one more album as McGuinn and Hillman before dissolving.
