Cinéma-Théâtre Omnia, Limoges March 1974 concert poster

Original first printing concert poster advertising American jazz and blues singer Helen Humes at the Cinéma-Théâtre Omnia in Limoges [France] on Monday, 11th March, 1974, presented by Le Hot Club de Limoges. Perhaps best known as a vocalist with Count Basie’s band, Humes also released a number of albums in her own name. The concert in Limoges was around the time of the release of the Helen Comes Back album – an album released on the French Black And Blue label in November 1973. The album featured tenor saxophonists Arnett Cobb and Candy Johnson, pianist Jay McShann, organist and pianist Milt Buckner, guitarists Al Casey and Clarence Brown, drummers Michael Silva and Paul Gunther, and bassist Roland Lobligeois. It received the “Hot Club of France Award for Best Album of 1973”. Helen Humes died of cancer in Santa Monica on 9th September, 1981, aged 68. The poster has been authentically signed in red marker pen by Humes.

The poster measures 38.7 x 58.5 cm (approx. 15.2″ by 23″ inches) and is beautifully printed in red and black inks on thin, smooth-finish uncoated paper stock. Folded twice with tape marks to the corners. Feel free to email us with any questions you may have concerning this item. Additional images of the poster available on request.
