Nippon Budokan, Tokyo February 1978 concert flyer
Large original double-sided concert flyer advertising American jazz pianists Herbie Hancock (1940) and Chick Corea (1941–2021) at the Nippon Budokan in Tokyo [Japan] on Wednesday, 15th February, 1978. It was just Hancock and Corea playing acoustic pianos, a marked departure from both men’s favoring of electric keyboards at that time. According to Chick Corea, the idea for the “Super Duo Concert” originally came from a Miles Davis recording session where he performed with Hancock for the first time (November 1968).
The flyer measures 18.1 x 25.8 cm (approx. 7.1″ by 10.2″ inches) and is beautifully printed on thin, coated paper stock. In excellent unfolded and unmarked condition. Feel free to email us with any questions you may have concerning this item. Additional images of the flyer available on request.
