Original first printing concert poster advertising American jazz pianist, keyboardist, bandleader, and composer Herbie Hancock at the Robert-Schumann-Saal in Düsseldorf [Germany] on Wednesday, 1st May, 1996, presented by Eckert & Bünting. Hancock was touring Europe in support of The New Standard — his fortieth album, recorded at Manhattan Center Studios in New York and produced by Guy Eckstine, who had also produced Dis Is da Drum, the previous year. Released on 19th February, 1996 by Verve Records, The New Standard consists of jazz renditions of classic and contemporaneous rock and R&B songs, including numbers from the likes of Peter Gabriel, Stevie Wonder, Sade, Paul Simon, Prince, Kurt Cobain, and The Beatles.  Hancock’s touring band featured tenor saxophonist Craig Handy, bassist Dave Holland and drummer Gene Jackson.

The poster measures 59.3 x 83.9 cm (approx. 23.3″ by 33″ inches) and is beautifully printed on thin, smooth-finish uncoated paper stock. In excellent unfolded condition, clean and unmarked.
