Théâtre de Paris, Paris October 1953 concert program

Original vintage concert program for American vibraphonist, pianist, percussionist, and bandleader Lionel Hampton’s two concerts at the Théâtre de Paris in Paris on 7th & 11th October, 1953. The Paris shows were part of an extended European tour with arguably the finest bunch of musicians Hamp has ever assembled. The orchestra at the time included trumpeters Clifford Brown, Art Farmer and Quincy Jones, trombonist James Cleveland, tenor Clifford Scott, and pianist George Wallington. The program features striking artwork by Nory.

In original red and purple pictorial wrappers, staple bound, 21.0 x 27.0 cm, 12 pp. Program notes in French by Frank Tenot. There is a vertical fold line running down the middle of the program, else in near excellent condition, tightly bound and clean. Additional photos available on request.
