Tonhalle, Düsseldorf May 1979 concert poster

Original first printing concert poster advertising American jazz vibraphonist, pianist, percussionist, and bandleader Lionel Hampton at the Tonhalle in Düsseldorf [Germany] on Monday, 21st May, 1979, with a star ensemble that included Curtis Fuller, Paul Jeffrey, Paul Moen, René McLean, Joe Newman, Charles Sullivan, Wild Bill Davis, Richie Pratt, and Gary Maccoroppi. Lionel Hampton died on 31st August, 2002, aged 94, and was buried in Woodlawn Cemetery in The Bronx, immediately adjacent to both Miles Davis and Duke Ellington’s graves.

The poster measures 59.2 x 83.9 cm and is beautifully printed on thin, uncoated paper stock. Very light edge wear to the upper right side border, else in near excellent unfolded condition. Additional photos available on request.
