October 1981 German concert tour poster
Original first printing concert poster advertising American rock band The Grateful Dead’s three concerts at the Stadthalle in Bremen, the Olympiahalle in Munich, and the Walter Köbel Halle in Rüsselsheim on 10th, 12th and 13th October, 1981, respectively. The concerts were part of the band’s Fall 1981 European tour in support of the Dead Set live album, kicking off at the Playhouse Theatre in Edinburgh on 30th September and ending at the Palacio Municipal de Deportes in Barcelona on 19th October. The tour was actually the Dead’s second trip to Europe that year, having played four shows at the Rainbow Theatre in London as well as a televised show at the Grugahalle in Essen with The Who during April.
The poster measures 84.6 x 60.4 cm (approx. 33.3″ by 23.7″ inches) and is beautifully printed on thin, coated paper stock.
