1977 Japanese United Artists/King Records promo poster for “We Must Believe in Magic”
Original first printing Crystal Gayle promotional poster issued by United Artists/King Records in Japan in 1977. Presumably to promote the release of the We Must Believe in Magic album – Gayle’s fourth studio album, produced by Allen Reynolds, and originally released in June 1977 on United Artists Records in the USA. Containing the hit single “Don’t It Make My Brown Eyes Blue”, the album was a huge commercial success and peaked at #12 on the Billboard 200. It was certified Platinum in 1978 by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) for sales exceeding one million copies in the US. It was also Gayle’s first album to chart in the UK, where it reached #15, and was certified silver by the BPI. The poster was for promotional purposes only, and was never made commercially available.
