March 1961 European concert tour program (Michel+Kieser)
Original vintage concert program for jazz giants Ella Fitzgerald and Oscar Peterson’s joint March 1961 European tour, presented by Norman Granz in association with Horst Lippmann. On the tour Fitzgerald was accompanied by the Lou Levy Quartet, while Oscar Peterson introduced his new trio, featuring drummer Ed Thigpen and bassist Ray Brown. Original ticket for the concert at the Gruga-Halle in Essen on Friday, 3rd March, laid in. Program artwork and design by Hans Michel and Günther Kieser.
In original pictorial matte-coated wrappers, perfect bound, 27.6 x 25.3 cm, 24 pp. Bilingual edition with program notes in both German and English. Light wear to spine and extremities and a paper clip mark to the back wrapper, else near fine, tightly bound and clean. Additional photos available on request.
