Palais des Festivals, Cannes July 1958 concert program
Uniue, one of a kind, original vintage multiple signed concert program produced for the 1958 “Festival de Jazz” staged at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes [France] from 8th to 13th July, 1958, presented and organised by Le Comité des Fêtes de la Ville d Cannes and Le Jazz-Club Français. The festival featured a number of jazz luminaries including Ella Fitzgerald, Coleman Hawkins, Dizzy Gillespie, Stan Getz, Sidney Bechet, Roy Eldridge, and Zoot Sims. The festival was recorded by the RTF, the French national public broadcasting organization. The program has been authentically signed by Stan Getz, Dizzy Gillespie, Sidney Bechet, Roy Eldridge, Teddy Buckner, Albert Nicholas, Coleman Hawkins, Joe Turner, Guy Lafitte, Sammy Price, Arvell Shaw, J.C. Heard, Yvonne Blanc, and Vic Dickenson. For the most part the signatures are next to the artists’ respective photographs.
In original red and black pictorial matte-coated wrappers, staple bound, 21.0 x 26.7 cm, 32 pp. All text in French. Light wear to spine and extremities, else in near excellent condition, tightly bound and clean. Additional images of the program available on request.
