Yubin Chokin Kaikan, Tokyo September/October 1980 concert poster

Original first printing concert poster advertising American jazz pianist Bill Evans at the Yubin Chokin Kaikan in Tokyo [Japan] on Saturday, 20th September and Wednesady, 1st October, 1980, in support of the We Will Meet Again album, an album dedicated to Evans’ older brother, Harry, who comitted suicide in 1979. The album is notable in that it is Evans’ last studio recording. For the Japanese tour Evans was accompanied by bassist Marc Johnson and drummer Joe LaBarbera, replacing Eddie Gómez and Eliot Zigmund, who had left Evans in 1978. This trio would be Evans’ last. The Japanese tour was cancelled as Evans died on 15th September, 1980.
