1979 Japanese CBS/Sony Inc. promo poster for “Slow Train Coming”

Large original first printing Bob Dylan promotional poster issued by CBS/Sony Inc in Japan in 1979 to promote the release of the Slow Train Coming album, Dylan’s nineteenth studio album, produced by Barry Beckett and Jerry Wexler, and originally released in August 1979 on Columbia Records in the USA. Containing the hit single “Gotta Serve Somebody”, the album reached #3 on the Billboard 200 in September 1979, and stayed 26 weeks on the charts. It was certified Platinum in May 1980 by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) for sales exceeding one million copies in the US alone. The poster was for promotional purposes only, and was never made commercially available.

The poster measures 72.6 x 102.7 cm (approx. 28.6″ by 40.4″ inches) and is beautifully printed on medium-thin, coated paper stock.
