Westfalenhalle, Dortmund June 1978 concert poster
Original first printing concert poster advertising Bob Dylan at the Westfalenhalle in Dortmund [Germany] on 26th & 27th June, 1978, presented by Fritz Rau in cooperation with Michael Scheller. The two Dortmund shows were the first ever Dylan concerts in Germany and they marked a triumphant return to Europe, his first European tour since the notorious May 1966 tour. After six concerts at London’s Earl Court, Dylan’s German tour began here in Dortmund before playing Berlin’s Deutschlandhalle on 29th June and ending at the Zeppelinfeld in Nuremberg on 1st July. After the German tour Dylan went on to play five concerts at the Pavillon de Paris and two concerts at the Scandinavium in Gothenburg before ending his European tour at the Blackbushe Aerodrome on 15th July.
The poster measures 59.8 x 83.4 cm (approx. 23.5″ by 32.8″ inches) and is beautifully printed on thin, coated paper stock. Unfolded, but with pin holes to the corners and a couple of diagonal crease lines to the bottom right corner, as well as light overall surface handling wear.
