Philharmonie, Berlin April 1976 concert poster

Original first printing concert poster advertising American rock and roll pianist and singer Fats Domino at the Philharmonie in Berlin [Germany] on Monday, 5th April, 1976, presented by Marcel Avram and Marek Lieberberg’s MAMA Concerts in cooperation with local Berlin impresario Wolfgang Jänicke. Domino’s band for the tour featured trumpeters Dave Bartholomew and Thomas Johnson, baritone saxophonist Roger Lewis, bass guitarist Carlton MacWilliams, drummer Joseph Johnson, guitarists David Douglas and Roy Montrell, and tenor saxophonists Fred Kemp, Lee Allen and Walter Kimble. Domino sold more than 65 million records in his time. Between 1955 and 1960, he had eleven Top 10 hits. During his career, Domino had 35 records in the Billboard Top 40, and five of his pre-1955 records sold more than a million copies, being certified gold. His musical style was based on traditional rhythm and blues, accompanied by saxophones, bass, piano, electric guitar, and drums. His 1949 release “The Fat Man” is widely regarded as the first million-selling rock and roll record. Two of his most famous songs are “Ain’t That A Shame” and “Blueberry Hill”.

The poster measures 83.7 x 59.0 cm (approx. 33″ by 23.2″ inches) and is beautifully printed on thin, smooth-finish uncoated paper stock. In excellent unfolded and unmarked condition.
