Otto Berndt Halle, Darmstadt October 1978 concert poster

Original first printing concert poster advertising Spanish virtuoso flamenco guitarist and composer Paco de Lucía (1947—2014) at the Otto Berndt Halle in Darmstadt [Germany] on Wednesday, 4th October, 1978, presented by Sunrise Concertbüro in cooperation with Alpha Concerts. De Lucía was touring with his group Dolores in support of Paco de Lucía interpreta a Manuel de Falla — his twelfth studio album, an album made up of pieces written by Spanish composer Manuel de Falla, who wrote very little music for the guitar. In this respect, he can be compared to another Spanish composer, Isaac Albéniz whose piano music has entered the guitar repertory. De Lucía was widely considered to be the world’s premier flamenco guitarist and by many to be Spain’s greatest musical export. He had a revolutionary influence on flamenco music both as a composer and otherwise. His influence on flamenco guitar has been compared with that of Andrés Segovia’s on classical guitar. De Lucía died of a heart attack on 25th February, 2014. A post-mortem documentary called Paco de Lucía: La búsqueda, based on his life, was released on 24th October, 2014.

The poster measures 59.0 x 83.7 cm (approx. 23.2 by 33 inches) and is beautifully printed on thin, smooth-finish uncoated paper stock. In excellent unfolded condition, clean and unmarked. Feel free to email us with any questions you may have concerning this item. Additional images of the poster available on request.
