Koseinenkin Hall, Tokyo May/June 1963 concert flyer 

Large original first printing double-sided concert flyer advertising Art Blakey & The Jazz Messengers’ performances at the Sankei Hall and Koseinenkin Hall in Tokyo [Japan] on 2nd to 4th and 27th to 29th January, 1961, respectively. For their first visit to Japan, The Jazz Messengers featured tenor saxophonist Wayne Shorter, double bassist Jymie Merritt, pianist Bobby Timmons, and trumpeter Lee Morgan. A large part of the CD set In Tokyo 1961: The Complete Concerts was actually recorded at the Sankei Hall on 2nd January, 1961.

The flyer measures 21.1 x 29.9 cm and is beautifully printed on thin, matte-coated paper stock. Folded twice horizontally with light handling wear. Feel free to email us with any questions you may have concerning this item. Additional images of the flyer available on request.
