Salle Pleyel, Paris May 1949 concert flyer
Original first printing concert flyer advertising the Festival International de Jazz at the Salle Pleyel in Paris [France] on Sunday, 8th May, 1949. Performing artists on this day of the festival included Charlie Parker’s Quintet, Miles Davis’ Quintet, Sidney Bechet with Pierre Braslavsky and his orchestra, Hot Lips Page, Russell Moore, and many others. The Paris Festival marked the first European appearances for both Charlie Parker and Miles Davis.
The flyer measures 21.0 x 30.5 cm and is beautifully printed in red ink on thin, cream-colored paper stock.
