January 1971 Japanese concert tour program
Large original vintage program book lavishly produced for the Charles Mingus Quintet’s January 1971 Japanese tour. Besides the leader himself, the Quintet featured trumpeter Eddie Preston, tenor saxophonist and clarinetist Bobby Jones, pianist Jaki Byard, and drummer Al Hicks. It was on this tour the Charles Mingus with Orchestra album was recorded.
In original pictorial uncoated wrappers, staple bound, 25.8 x 36.4 cm, 36 pp. All text in Japanese. In near excellent complete condition, tightly bound and clean. Additional images of the program available on request.
