Early 1970s Japanese CTI Records promo poster

Original first printing Ron Carter (1937) promotional poster issued by CTI Records in Japan in the early 1970s, presumably somewhere between Blues Farm (1973) and All Blues (1974). Carter recorded for CTI from 1973–1976. CTI Records (Creed Taylor Incorporated) was founded by Creed Taylor in 1967. It was a subsidiary of A&M before becoming independent in 1970. Its first album was A Day in the Life by guitarist Wes Montgomery in 1967. The label’s roster included George Benson, Ron Carter, Eumir Deodato, Astrud Gilberto, Freddie Hubbard, Bob James, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Hubert Laws, Stanley Turrentine, and Walter Wanderley. The poster was for promotional purposes only, and was never made commercially available.

The poster measures 51.8 x 72.5 cm (approx. 20.4″ by 28.5″ inches) and is beautifully printed on thin, smooth-finish uncoated paper stock. There is a faint crease mark to the upper right side border, else in excellent unfolded condition. Feel free to email us with any questions you may have concerning this item. Additional images of the poster available on request.
