February 1986 German concert tour poster

Original first printing concert poster advertising American rock group Blue Öyster Cult’s eight-date German tour during February 1986 in support of the Club Ninja album, presented by Music Circus, and with English heavy metal band Tokyo Blade as special guests. Produced by Sandy Pearlman, Club Ninja was released on 10th December, 1985 by Columbia Records. It was the band’s tenth studio album, and the only BÖC studio album not to feature keyboardist and founding member Allen Lanier. Lanier was replaced temporarily by Tommy Zvoncheck. Containing the hit single “Dancin’ in the Ruins”, the album was intended as a comeback for the band, whose previous album, The Revölution by Night,  failed to attain Gold status following the success of 1981’s Fire of Unknown Origin and 1982’s Extraterrestrial Live. Club Ninja sold more than 175,000 copies, falling well short of gold status again, and because of its high cost, Columbia Records executives deemed it a commercial failure. The album was the band’s last studio album with bassist Joe Bouchard.

The poster measures 59.3 x 83.7 cm (approx. 23.3″ by 33″ inches) and is beautifully printed on thin, smooth-finish uncoated paper stock. In excellent unfolded and unmarked condition. Feel free to email us with any questions you may have concerning this item. Additional images of the poster available on request.
