Musikhalle, Hamburg September 1975 concert poster
Large original first printing concert poster advertising British rock group Status Quo at the Musikhalle in Hamburg [Germany] on Wednesday, 17th September, 1975. The Hamburg show was part of the group’s fall 1975 German tour in support of the On the Level album, their eighth studio album, produced by the band themselves and released on 21st February, 1975. Containing the hit single “Down Down”, the album went straight to #1 on the UK Album charts with the band more or less at the peak of their career, record sales-wise. The Berlin concert was the last European gig before leaving for a tour of Japan and Australia. Special guests on the German tour were the British rock band Snafu, featuring singer Bobby Harrison and guitarist Micky Moody.
The poster measures 59.0 x 83.8 cm (approx. 23.2″ by 33″ inches) and is beautifully printed on thin coated paper stock. There is a 5 cm closed tear to the top left corner, and a couple of smaller edge rips, else in remarkably near excellent unfolded condition.
