Wartburg Music Hall, Wiesbaden September 1980 concert poster

Large original first printing concert poster advertising American punk rock group The Ramones at the Wartburg Music Hall in Wiesbaden [Germany] on Thursday, 4th September, 1980, presented by Karsten Jahnke in cooperation with Alpha Concerts. The show in Wiesbaden was one of only three concerts in Germany that year, the other two being Berlin (3rd Sept) and Munich (8th Sept). The Ramones were touring Europe in support of the End of the Century album – their fifth studio album, produced by Phil Spector, and released in February, 1980 on Sire Records. It was the first Ramones album to be produced by Spector, though he had offered the band his assistance earlier in their career. The album received generally positive reviews from critics, but not as favorable for many of the band’s previous records. Containing the singles “Rock ‘n’ Roll High School”, “Baby, I Love You”, and “Do You Remember Rock ‘n’ Roll Radio”, the album peaked at #44 on the Billboard 200 and is the highest-charting Ramones album of all time. It stayed on the chart for 14 weeks.

The poster measures 83.78 x 58.8 cm (approx. 33″ by 23.1″ inches) and is beautifully printed on thin, smooth-finish uncoated paper stock. Folded twice with light surface handling wear, else in remarkably near excellent unfolded condition. Feel free to email us with any questions you may have concerning this item. Additional images of the poster available on request.
